PAMELA Water hoop earrings
Jewelry that has nothing to hide
Right from the creation of her first jewelry pieces, Louise put her personal convictions at the center of her practice: French manufacturing and good quality materials. As the brand grew, these convictions became commitments that are now at the heart of the brand's DNA.
On this page, we share with you our successes, our areas for improvement and our goals for the future. Today, as in tomorrow, we are committed to placing sustainable development at the heart of all we do.
1 - Jewelry that supports French craftsmanship
Today, we are proud to claim that our production is 99%* French, in short run, and supports traditional craftsmanship. Every step of the creation of our jewelry and objects is made by hand in our Paris workshop: model making, molding, polishing, gilding, welding, strassing, enameling, assembling...
* Silver plating is the only step in the manufacturing process that we have chosen to carry out in a workshop in Spain, in order to guarantee the best quality/price ratio for this finish.
2 - A certified and committed workshop
We've been working with the same Parisian workshop since 2017, located 20 minutes from our offices. Louise and Zoé (our production manager), come there regularly to talk with our artisans. Laurent, the model maker, models the jewels with Louise. Zoé and Philippe, the workshop manager, supervise the production.
We chose to work with this workshop not only because of the quality of its expertise, but also because we share their philosophy of continuous improvement in terms of sustainable development.
The workshop is audited and complies with current REACH and ISO standards. It is also part of the Installations Classified for the Protection of the Environment (ICPE). More specifically, this guarantees that manufacturing processes are supervised and that a list of social and environmental commitments is respected.
The workshop also operates in a closed circuit: 100% of wastewater is treated and reused, and no substances are released into the environment.
3 - Favor recycled materials
In line with our 2023 objectives, we have increased the proportion of recycled materials in our production to 80%:
100% RECYCLED TIN
Origin: European Union, processed in France.
40% RECYCLED BRASS
Source: European Union, processed in France.
We use 100% recycled brass for all our rings and bands. However, our chains, clasps and primers are not yet made of recycled brass.
100% RECYCLED GOLD*
Processed in france. This means that no more extraction is necessary to gild our jewelry.
* Only our two vermeil medallions, Eve and Anna, are not yet gilded with recycled gold. However, this is one of our objectives for the coming years!
Whenever we can, we turn to upcycled materials. As an example, the little glass hearts of the Niki collection come from the archives of a former high-end brand.
We apply the same rigor to our packaging: 95% of our packaging is recyclable and contains no plastic. Since the end of 2023, we have been developing new packaging so that it is 100% recycled and recyclable (at the moment, the foam backing of our boxes and the closing magnet are not). The bag containing your order is also FSC-certified and made from paper sourced from sustainable forests.
4 - The RJC label, for a more ethical and sustainable gold
This was one of our key objectives for 2024: our workshop now uses RJC-CoC certified recycled gold!
This label guarantees the transparency of the gold supply chain. RJC-certified companies undertake to respect a list of ethical, social, environmental and human rights practices.
5 - Sustainable production
Instead of mass production, we prefer to create less, but better.
From the beginning, we have chosen to free ourselves from trends and create collections that have neither seasonality nor temporality. This choice has enabled us to maintain our collections year after year.
To avoid overproduction and waste, we have chosen to produce in reasonable quantities, adapting to customer demand.
6 - Carefully sourced and tracked materials
Our raw materials are carefully selected, clean and safe for your health: they contain no lead, nickel or cadmium, in compliance with the law. Each material is controlled and certified, and we make sure that each supplier respects the working conditions of its employees.
To encourage short production cycles, we work with 85% materials from the European Union*. The remaining 15% is made up of special materials whose know-how cannot be found in Europe, such as mother-of-pearl from Indonesia.
* France, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Portugal.
7 - A regilding and repair service
Whether it's a little accident or simply natural wear and tear, our jewelry can sometimes get damaged or break. Rather than replacing them, we encourage our customers to have them repaired: our jewelry is guaranteed for life against breakage and can be repaired and regilded as many times as necessary.
8 - Sustainable transport
To transport our raw materials, we have chosen road transport, which is less polluting and low in carbon emissions. We also do our best to source our products from France and the European Union, in order to reduce the distances traveled and thus their environmental impact.
For delivery, we offer click and collect in our Paris store. We have also set up a bicycle courier service for orders delivered within Paris. In addition to avoiding polluting deliveries, it's always nice to be able to receive your new jewel so quickly!
9 - Commitments that we apply in our offices
Our commitments apply to every facet of the company, and we do our best to limit the environmental impact of our offices:
Our jewelry displays in our showroom and our store are made of ceramic, handcrafted by Solène, a French artisan.
70% of our office supplies (furniture and decoration) are second-hand.
Since 2023, we have been buying our IT equipment (computers, tablets, etc.) second-hand whenever possible.
Even if we're not perfect, we do our best to apply responsible gestures on a daily basis: we sort our waste, our e-mails, we use recycled paper and we only travel on foot, by bike or by public transport. 80% of our service providers and our workshop are no more than 30 minutes away from our offices!
What about gender parity?
Our team is made up exclusively of women, although we would be delighted to recruit men (feel free to send us your CV!). At the moment, most of our external service providers are men, so it's a good balance!
Our goals for the future : Short term - by 2025
Long term - by 2030
