JEWELRY THAT HAS NOTHING TO HIDE
More than a jewel
A Louise Damas jewel is a unique design that lasts over time and can be passed on. More than just accessories, our jewels have a story to tell: that of a handcrafted production, made in France, that places the human being at the core of its projects. And because transparency is one of our most precious values, we are revealing everything to you: the materials we use, where they come from, how our workshop operates, but also our goals for the future.
Let’s dive in.
MADE WITH LOVE… AND COMMITMENT
To mass production, we prefer reasonable quantities: to create less, but better. From the very beginning, Louise has chosen to free herself from trends and create collections that have no seasonality or temporality. This choice allows us to keep our collections year after year, to the delight of our customers. To avoid overproduction and waste, we have chosen to produce in reasonable quantities, adapting to the demand of our customers. Therefore, no overstocking, and no excessive sales either.
We are proud to produce everything in France, in short circuit and in the respect of the artisanal know-how: all our jewels are manufactured within our Parisian workshop, where Louise goes regularly to exchange directly with our craftsmen. Over the years, the team has developed a special relationship that allows them to enrich each other to create unique collections that bring Louise's ideas to life.
Each step of the manufacturing process of our jewels is handmade by our craftsmen, according to Louise's sketches: model making, molding, polishing, gilding, assembly... Our colored enamels are also made in our workshop, each shade being the result of dozens of tests and mixes to find the perfect shade.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Carefully chosen materials
At Louise Damas, we do not compromise on quality: when creating our collections, our raw materials are carefully selected, clean and safe for your health. Each of them is controlled and certified and we make sure that each supplier respects the working conditions of its employees.
In order to encourage short circuit production, we work mostly with materials from the European Union.
However, our jewelry can sometimes require specific materials that are not found in Europe. This is the case with the freshwater pearls in our Lise and Ondine collections, which come from Indonesia.
To take it a step further, the tin we use is 100% recycled and all offcuts and defective jewelry are remelted to minimize waste. Also, whenever possible, we use materials from dead stocks, such as the little glass hearts from our Niki collection.
A trustworthy workshop
The Parisian workshop we have been working with since the beginning is audited and certified REACH and ISO: it guarantees the traceability of materials, the supervision of manufacturing processes as well as the respect of a list of societal and environmental commitments.
The workshop also operates in a closed circuit: 100% of wastewater is treated and reused and no substance is released into nature.
